Peruvian Q’ero Despacho Ceremony
A Sacred Ritual of Gratitude, Healing & Harmony
What Is a Despacho
A Despacho Ceremony is a traditional Andean offering ritual practiced by the Q’ero people of Peru, descendants of the ancient Inka.
This sacred tradition is an act of ayni—sacred reciprocity—where we honor Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (mountain spirits) by creating a beautiful prayer bundle filled with intention, gratitude, and love.
Each element—flowers, leaves, sugar, herbs, seeds, shells—is symbolic. Every layer in the Despacho represents a prayer, blessing, or intention, offered in harmony with the natural and spiritual worlds.
The Ceremony Experience
Led by Jeff, the Despacho unfolds as a meditative, heart-centered experience. Whether shared in a group circle or private one-on-one setting, each participant contributes their personal or collective prayers.
The ceremony may include:
Sacred invocation of nature spirits and energies
Intention-setting for healing, abundance, or transformation
Layering of symbolic offerings on a sacred cloth
Cleansing ritual with palo santo or incense
Final offering — the Despacho is burned, buried, or released to water to carry the prayers
